USCIS Receipts
The USCIS Receipts Tracking module is a powerful integration designed to provide law firms with real-time visibility into the status of immigration cases directly from the official government source.
1. Firm-Wide Receipt Control Center
The USCIS Receipts dashboard allows administrators and attorneys to oversee the status of every case in the firm from a single screen.
- Total Visibility: Access a master list including the internal Case ID, Contact (client or associated firm), Form type (e.g., I-130), and the USCIS Receipt number.
- Real-Time Status: View detailed columns such as Case Status and Last Status (the latest update received from USCIS).
- Organization Tools: Use the Filter, Sort, and Group buttons to segment receipts by status, attorney, or client.
2. Individual Case Tracking
In addition to the global view, you can manage receipts specifically within each individual file.
- Location: Inside any case, navigate to the USCIS Receipts tab in the bottom navigation menu.
- Manual Update: While the system monitors changes, users can trigger an instant update by clicking the Update status button next to any receipt. This performs a direct query to the official USCIS API.
- Direct Link: The See in USCIS button automatically redirects you to the official government page with the receipt number pre-loaded for further verification.
3. Transparency: The Client Portal
One of the main benefits of this feature is reducing the volume of status inquiry calls and emails.
- Automatic Synchronization: All status information updated in Prima.Law is automatically reflected in the Client Portal.
- Client Access: Clients can log into their own USCIS tab to view the progress of their petition, increasing trust and peace of mind.
Pro Tip: Always ensure the receipt number is entered correctly (e.g., IOE0928010839) to ensure the API connection can fetch the data successfully.
