When and How Libraries Are Added
Libraries can be added either during initial account creation or at any time afterward through the Admin Console. Nothing is permanent during trial and all settings can be changed later.
Adding Libraries During Account Creation
When creating a new Prima.Law account, you are prompted to select which libraries you want to include in your trial before entering a payment method.
- Create your account and begin the setup flow.
- Select any libraries you want to test (for example, Immigration).
- Continue through the setup screens.
- On the final screen, assign selected libraries to the main user and any additional users if you added more Core subscriptions.
If this step is skipped, libraries can still be managed later without issue.
Managing Libraries After Signup
All subscription and library management is handled through the Admin Console, which is accessible only to administrators.
Accessing the Admin Console
- Click your username in the top-right corner of Prima.Law.
- Select Administrator Panel.
- You will land in the Admin Console.
Subscription Tab
The Subscription tab controls Core subscriptions and legal libraries.
Core Subscription Rules
- At least one Core subscription is required to access Prima.Law.
- Core subscriptions are per user.
- The number of Core subscriptions must match the number of active users.
Users who only need managerial access (tasks, follow-ups, case status review) can be assigned Core only and do not need a library. These users will not be able to create cases, edit forms, or access library content.
Adding or Updating Libraries
- Locate the desired library in the Subscription tab.
- Adjust the quantity as needed.
- Repeat for additional libraries if applicable.
After making changes, click Subscribe on each modified row or click Subscribe / Update at the top. This refreshes the subscription and applies changes.
Assigning Libraries to Users
After libraries are added, switch to the Users tab in the Admin Console.
Inviting Users
- Confirm enough Core subscriptions exist.
- Invite the user by email.
- The user activates their account via email or can be activated manually by an administrator.
Assigning Libraries
- Locate the activated user.
- Click Actions on the right side of their row.
- Assign any available libraries.
- Save changes.
Only assigned libraries are accessible to a user.
Creating Cases Using Libraries
Libraries become usable when creating cases.
From the Case Management Board
- Click New Case.
- Select the contact.
- Choose the library.
- Select a case type from that library.
- Create the case.
From a Contact Page
- Open a contact.
- Click Create New Case.
- Select the library and case type.
- Create the case.
Case Type Structure
Each case type may include:
- A guided flow showing step-by-step progress
- A checklist of supporting documents
- A list of required or optional forms
These tools help standardize work and track progress.
Working With Forms
Inside a case, navigate to the Forms tab.
Adding Forms
- Click New.
- Select the library.
- Search by exact form name (for example, I-485) or keyword such as Adjustment, VAWA, or Renewal.
- Select and add the form.
Forms from any assigned library can be added, regardless of the original case type.
Smart Interviews
Some libraries include Smart Interviews, which are client-facing questionnaires used to capture information and autofill forms.
Viewing Interviews
- Open the Smart Interviews tab inside a case.
- Click All Available Interviews in the top-right corner.
If a needed interview is missing, send suggestions to support@prima.law.
Ongoing Updates
Prima.Law continuously updates all libraries based on official agency and court revisions. Most updates are completed within one business day and no later than two business days after release.
